You can't do Highpoly with about 500 MB RAM -_- ...

I decided to do a medieval english crossbowman with less than 5000 Tris including all props.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gk15GS90lYs/TLtzV3XoLlI/AAAAAAAAAKA/3F_c-H_anPs/s320/MenAtArms_Crossbowman.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5529139787004915282" />

After the Diffuse is done, I'll be modelling two more medieval soldiers. And maybe a whole series of variations.

Ah, and maybe you've noticed a little change to the blog's layout and style. I added a banner and a Portfolio page. As a start it's a lot the same as in Eddie Munoz's Blog, because I liked it a lot when I had a look at it today. Took some time to figure out how it works, therefore it still looks very similiar. Just to get a better idea of the silhouette, only because I am not that affin to 3D sculpting yet.
It's not that I don't like the creature at all, but it's silhouette could really be a little bit more intense.

And heres a sneak peak of what the final texturing could look like. It already contains the cavity and ambient occlusion maps within the diffuse. The normalmap still needs a specular. After I'm done with that, I'm going to render and post it.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gk15GS90lYs/SxAyP4aJHxI/AAAAAAAAAE4/ywghNRJiCxo/s200/Insectobrute_textured.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5408878400893427474" />

Adding the 3rd Dimension

As you see, this was the modeling sheet for what should have been my semester test.
